EKKONO OFFICIALLY BEGINS ON-GROUND WORK IN THE PHILIPPINES

Federation

Following the announcement of their strategic partnership earlier this year, the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) and Ekkono Method have wasted no time in turning vision into action. Throughout April, two Ekkono technical experts traveled to the Philippines for an intensive on-ground immersion, marking the first concrete step in building a comprehensive football development framework for the nation.

Understanding the Philippines First-Hand

The visit was designed to go beyond meetings and presentations. Ekkono’s team spent time experiencing Filipino football culture directly — visiting clubs, observing training sessions, attending youth competitions, and meeting with coaches, players, and federation staff across different regions.

“You cannot build something meaningful for a country from a distance,” said the Ekkono expert Óscar García. “We needed to see, listen, and understand. The passion for football here is real, and our job is to help channel that passion into a structured pathway that respects what makes Philippine football unique.”

Establishing the Foundations

A key outcome of the April visit was the formation of dedicated working committees that will play a central role in shaping the project over the coming months. These committees bring together PFF leaders, local football experts, and Ekkono specialists to ensure the development framework is built collaboratively — combining international methodology with deep local knowledge.

The committees will focus on critical areas including player development pathways, coach education, grassroots programmes, and elite performance structures.

What Comes Next

With the immersion phase complete, Ekkono’s team is now processing the extensive information gathered during the visit. Over the next few months, both parties will work closely — through regular virtual sessions and ongoing collaboration — to begin drafting the comprehensive development framework tailored specifically to Philippine football culture.

A second visit is planned for later this year, approximately three months from now, to continue the momentum and move into the next phase of the project.
